Italian top wine "Promis Gaja - Ca'Marcanda" Toscana IGT 75 cl.

Angelo Gaja gained world fame with his wines from Piemonte. The same Piemonte - "at the foot of the mountains", indicating the close presence of the Alps - which was part of the French kingdom of Savoy until the 19th century. The coherence of wine and food and the beautiful hilly vineyards are perhaps some of the many examples that remind many people of the French Burgundy.
Angelo may already call itself the 5th generation real winegrower, it is "coincidental" this family who are the very first to bottle their wines since 1859. The rich experience passes carefully from father to son and each generation has brought new fame to the family heritage. Over the years, the prominent presence of the Gaja family in Piemonte has allowed them to carefully acquire the best vineyards for their own.
These are just a few of the ingredients that make contemporary Gaja so grand and special. Of course, the vinification techniques of the highly experienced Angelo and daughter Gaia should not be underestimated. Together they make their wines with a lot of passion and dedication. Despite Gaja accepting each vintage as different, their wines always bear a very typical characteristic; pure, pure elegance.
However, modern techniques do not stand in the way of Gaja's glorious tradition, also in the choice of grape varieties. With the planting of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay in Piemonte, Gaja shows a lot of courage and passion. They reaffirm their 'different' approach since 1990, no longer bottling their renowned cru's Sorí Tildin, Costa Rusi and Sorí San Lorenzo as Barbaresco DOCG, but only as communal Langhe Nebbiolo DOC.
