Chateau Fougueyrat, Saint Emilion Grand Cru: Château Fougueyrat was operated by the Nicoux family until before the turn of the millennium as a very good Saint Emilion Grand Cru. The excellent terroir where the vineyards thrive testifies to great class. With prestigious Grand Cru Classé neighbors such as Cap de Mourlin, Soutard, Larmande and Dassault, this is difficult to argue with... In 2001, the Mortelmans family acquired the 7 hectares of beautifully situated vineyards with its cellars. To keep the Château among the select group of Saint Emilion Grand Crus, everything and everyone was promptly recalibrated for quality. The vineyards are located on the famous limestone cliff of Saint Emilion and are planted with 85% merlot, 10% cabernet franc and 5% cabernet sauvignon. They were realigned and some even replanted. Thanks to a double short pruning (vendanges vertes), nothing but quality is strived for in the vineyards. In the cellars, the alcoholic fermentation can be monitored very accurately thanks to small thermo-controlled stainless steel cuves. The aging in French oak barrels has been revised, so that 1/4th of oak barrels are renewed every year. The remaining wine matures in 1 or 2 year old barrels. Thanks to the large predominance of merlot, Château Fougueyrat can be drunk young, but can of course be cellared for several years. Exceptional vintages such as 2000 & 2005 may not have to avoid 20 years of cellar maturation.
Toast Walkers Scottish Highland Oatcakes: These Scottish oatcakes are prepared based on a traditional recipe that was perfected during the last century. They come from the heart of the Highlands and are made with only the best oats, without the addition of artificial colors or flavors. A fantastic source of wholegrain fibre, suitable for any diet, including vegetarians. Ideal as a snack. You can also use this as a base on which you apply the pâté and confit. The different flavors and textures mingle when you eat, giving you a pleasant feeling in your mouth.
Terrine de Canard à l'Orange, Les Ducs de Gascogne: Discover this Duck Terrine with Orange, a perfect fusion between the softness of duck and the freshness of the emblematic citrus fruits.
